Hellen is a public health physician based in the Kenyan coast where she works as a researcher in maternal and perinatal health. She is dedicated to the empowerment of vulnerable communities, medical peace work addressing small arms and nuclear disarmament, and the mentorship of medical students to become responsible physicians who will make an impact in their respective communities. Hellen is the immediate former Deputy Chair of IPPNW’s Board of Directors, and also coordinated the Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro for Peace (2015) project. The “K project” advocated for a uranium mining-free Africa continent, and a nuclear weapons-free world.
